The Yellow Dogs were formed in Tehran, Iran in 2006 but are now based in Brooklyn, NY. When the band started, they did not have official approval from the the Iranian Ministry of Culture, making their performances an illegal act in that country. They appeared in director Bahman Ghobadi's, "No One Knows About Persian Cats" a film about underground music in Tehran. Members include Obash (vocals& rhythm guitars), Looloosh (lead guitars & synth), Koory (bass & backing vocals) and Zina (drums).
